We have 4 beautiful window seats in our home, in the master bedroom, library, dining room and lounge. Each space is bright and breezy with a beautiful outlook. The challenge for us it how to decorate this space, with keeping in mind, how heavy the children can be on furnishings, the cats claws, and the amount of traffic each of these seats will see over their time. We would like to keep the window mostly uncovered, to keep the features clean and uncluttered. As usual Pinterest has provided much inspiration…..
Since I was a little girl, I dreamed of having a window seat like the little girls in the movies, until this house, it was a dream I had mostly forgotten. The moment we walked into our home, on the first inspection, I knew that I had not let go of my dreams, they had been active in the back of my mind and here they had landed fully at my feat. I look forward to sharing these spaces with you once completed.
Did you ever dream of spaces as a child, have those spaces come to you as an adult?

This is my dream too!!! I have a fantasy about curling up on a window seat and reading, while the ocean sit outside. I’d have to find a pretty dang good one because I get restless sitting too long on seats with out comfy back cushions due to my chronic back pain. At the moment we are trying to figure out how to have an affordable cute end of bed storage that we can also sit on to put our shoes on. #IBOT
That’s a great point about the backless seating, and one I hadn’t given too much consideration to. I will have to go back and have a rethink about how many cushions we order. Cute storage for the end of the bed to double up as seating sounds like a very practical idea! Thank you for dropping by ?
It’s a dream of mine to move to a house that has a window seat, we had one at home growing up and have great memories of it! At the moment I’d just be happy with a slightly bigger house… one day. Em – also visiting as part of #teamIBOT x
Happy to hear you have good memories of your window seat Em, I hope our children do too. Thanks for dropping by xx
I have always wanted a window seat like in the movies too! I begged Mum to put one in our house when we had renos done when I was in high school but Dad was not a fan so Mum (who came around to my side) and I were sadly disappointed! I still dream of one day having a window seat of my own to curl up on and read.
It seems to be a common theme with teenage girls, my daughter who is 18 is desperate for us to finish them, so that she can curl up with a good book. She has begged and begged for one in her room, but it would require major renovations. Thanks for dropping by xx
Oh I have always wanted a window seat! I remember trying to make one out of boxes and pillows when I was a teen. How lucky that you have four!
Thank you lovely Jess, we are very spoilt. xx
LOVE all of those. Love a window seat. So crushing on this blog of yours!
Thank you for dropping by Emily, welcome xxx
