Hoardings are another confusing word I only discovered myself this week. Quite simply a Hoarding is a barrier or fence, usually made from steel, but can also be made from wood. In the case of the fence above, a steel fence is then covered with plastic or printed shade cloth to allow advertising space for the building company. The barrier or fence is used to keep the public safe from the hazards on a work site, generally on a commercial site, however sometimes they are also used on residential sites as well.
