Summer Table Setting Ideas

Summer Table Setting Ideas

We adore Summer here at Pen Y Llechwedd and we entertain often during the warmer months so we can sit outside and enjoy the late afternoon breeze. I love to ‘dress’ the table not only for entertaining but also to make the everyday a little nicer. Searching the web for table setting ideas, I have come across a few easy, inexpensive ideas that I would love to share.

Summer Table Setting Ideas

When I think Summer dining, I think casual and easy. Summer meals in our home are rarely extravagant, usually something with salad, so quick and fuss free works best for our style of entertaining.

I talk often about using foliage in vases instead of cut flowers as an inexpensive way to decorate the house, but here it is used perfectly to add a highlight to the table, with the inclusion of lemons for a pop of colour and freshness as is Summer.

With daylight lasting longer in Summer, candles are the perfect ambient light and as shown above, can be striking in their simplicity.

How smashingly simple and stunning is this table setting! Coloured plates and a pop of pink flowers for the win. Often less is more and this is no exception. I love it!

Again the use of colour and pattern, this table would look just as amazing with some foliage instead of the sunflowers. The blue and white runner is really striking.

Oh my, I love this hard. The combination of the peach coloured bowls and the green from the leaves just make it’s feel all Summery, so stylish and simple.

Our Christmas table is one I regularly duplicate, again it is simply foliage and candles that make this work and can easily be pulled together for more casual dining.

Our Easter table is another version of the same, a table runner in place of the foliage. Here I would swap out the Easter features for some jars of cut herbs to create a fresh and inviting table.

Now that I have found some inspiration, it’s time for me to plan our next gathering with friends and a new table setting idea.

Do you decorate your table often? Do you enjoy entertaining?
