There has been a heap of exciting changes behind the scenes at The Builder’s Wife, one of which is the first (of several) expansion of the shop to include a few more of my favourite things. My friends who read the blog will be nodding their heads in agreement of several of the new items we now stock, knowing just how much I love them!
Shop Update, Some Of My Favourite Things!
Choosing items to stock in the shop wasn’t hard, I used the same theory I have used for buying in the pharmacies I used to buy for, if I love it, then there is a great chance others will too. When it comes to homewares, I really appreciate multipurpose goods, particularly ones that work as decorating items, as well as having a practical use.
With tight budgets or when we have limits on our spending, multipurpose items really give you more bang for your buck!
This shawl hits the multipurpose brief perfectly, as it can be used as a shawl or as a throw! A great complimentary colour for just about all home decor styles, and neutral enough to be worn with most Winter outfits, this shawl is soft, warm and comforting a great addition for your home. You can find the shawl here.
If you have visited me in my home, you will know that I wear an apron all the time! I love them and as a messy cook, they are essential for my day to day life. Not content to have a boring apron, I have an obsession for pretty ones, and have accumulated quite a collection. I have recently added the smock style apron and enjoy the way it wears. The pink on will also be joining my collection some time very soon ? You can find the smock style apron here and the mushroom pink apron here.
For the love of blue and white! Decorating pieces that have a purpose, and look fantastic, happy dance. You can find the tea towel here and the oven glove here.
Throw rugs are my religion, I have a house full! Therefor I knew that a few good throws were essential for our new collection. Embracing my love for blue and white, this gorgeous through is light weight, but snugly perfect for Queenslands warmer Winter. The white throw has gold thread carefully laced into the hem to create a luxurious yet understated throw rug. The clean white colour will work well in all homes. You can find the blue and white throw here and the luxurious white throw here.
One of the most popular pieces in our home is our delft plates. We have them hanging on the wall in the lounge. More recently we’ve added some in the kitchen. I absolutely knew I had to have these blue and white ceramic cheese plates that can be used in the same way! If hanging them on your wall is not your thing, then using them as cheese plates will justify a purchase of these new gorgeous blue and white plates, you can find them here.
I’ve been using reusable shopping bags for years, but now that the supermarkets are getting rid of the single use plastic variety (hooray!!) there are an abundance of lovely shopping bags hitting the market, like this pom pom sea grass shopping bag. What a way to class up your shopping experience! You can find the bag here.
I am not a fan of doing the dishes, but if I have to do them, then I insist on pretty tea towels to make me feel better about the whole process. Pink is fast becoming my colour of the moment. These mushroom pink tea towels will match my new apron perfectly! You can find them here.
You might have seen my lounge room refresh last week. In it I used many of the above items, including these pom pom cushions. They are such a fun addition and an easy way to update our lounge. The kids love them as much as I do. You can find the grey one here and the black one here.
And here is a reminder of what they looked like on my couch, along with the blue and white throw.
Having a shop on the blog is a change of direction for me. It allows me to share my favourite finds with you while bringing the shop right into your lounge room. If there are homewares you would love for me to stock, I would very much like to hear from you. Send me an email, or leave me a comment and I will do my best to chase up what it is that you love!
