Road Trip & A Sneaky Update

Road Trip & A Sneaky Update

More exciting news to share, along with our pop up shop reveal from last week. I’m going on a road trip!!! Next Thursday before dawn, I’ll be joined by bettyquette founder and fantastic friend Kirsten, as we trek down inland NSW to Mudgee to catch up with an awesome bunch of women for the Wild Spark Ladies Day.

It’s been a few years since my last road trip, coincidentally to Dubbo which is close by, for a family wedding. I’m so looking forward to hitting the road and meeting a group of rural women who are facing terrible drought. It will be a great reminder of just how much we take for granted here in Brisbane.

The Wild Spark Ladies day is the brainchild of another of my blogging buddies, Miss Chardy and her good friend Edwina. Chards lives on a cattle station in the middle of bum f*&k nowhere (her term ? ) and through her own isolation, has joined forces with her Brissie buddy Edwina, to create the Ladies Day, to connect rural, regional and remote women.

We will be joined by guest speakers, Shelly Hawkins and Amanda Loy. There will be pop up shops from bettyquette, Sunday Cowgirl, This Farmhouse, Add To Cart, Blue Sky Cheese, Incy Interiors and Zoco Candles, better still, it is being hosted at Burnbrae Wines on Saturday 19th October from 11 am!!

This event is being preceeded by a Brisbane event, hosted at Brookfield on Saturday 12th October from 11 am. You can find more information about both links HERE

Blogging has brought about wonderful sincere friendships, which have led to experiences I just wouldn’t have had otherwise. Better still, many of these friendships have played witness to the creation of businesses that have such authentic cores.

Be sure to keep an eye out on my Instagram stories to follow along with the fun of our road trip.

But wait there’s more…….

In a sneaky peak, we are planning some exciting updates to Pen Y Llechwedd. While I’ve not shared much of our home for the last while, there is a lot of new house-related content to come, including a new YouTube channel to host our DIY videos. Over the next 12 months, you’ll notice a shift here at The Builder’s Wife, as we start to offer more insight into behind the scenes of home building, renovation and decorating.

You can expect, DIY videos on all the things you’d like to be able to do around your home both building and decorating, events (we’ve got a couple in the planning stage for next year) and a whole bunch more. We’re looking forward to sharing more of what you’ve been asking for. Be to stick around as we bring you so much more!

What would you like to see here on the blog? What friendships do you love to celebrate?

  1. Thanks for your article on The Hidden Cost of Advice.
Without a second thought I purchased your written information providing me with valuable insight, forms, and direction for a build. I also read your blocks. None I which I would expect to get for free. Study, experience and dedication definately does not come free. It takes years to have enough knowledge to even offer advise.
Passion for something does not mean it is free for others who admire you for that passion. Encouragement and positivity is free, tools of the trade are not.
    Keep up the good work
