Can you believe that we are in the middle of February already!! Valentines Day is a little different here at The Builder’s Wife this year we are celebrating all things Pen Y Llechwedd, after all we love this house! It’s almost 4 years now since we began on this journey, when after looking for 3 months and thinking we could never find the exact blend of what we wanted, Pen Y Llechwedd was presented to us.

It all started here, this is the very first picture that I shared here and on my socials. It was love at first sight for us, with so many original features, we just knew we could make something special.

I have so many favourite transformations, but our bedroom and ensuite are top of the list! The library a close second.

It’s not hard to live in a home that is packed full with so much personality, you can feel it as soon as you walk in the front door. Local history is steeped in this house, if you ask a long time local, they all have a story about it to share.

The original pressed metal ceilings and silky oak door are two of my favourite features. What has surprised us, is the liveability of the house. As a large and very busy family, I was concerned for a time about how we would cope with living in an older home, what we found though, is that Queenslanders are very easy to live in, designed for flow which suits our lifestyle perfectly.

The reconfiguration and addition of the kids space downstairs has been the sanity saver needed for both the teens and myself.

Although another last is apon us, with this our last Valentines day here today, the memories we have created here are sure to last us a lifetime and we are excited to begin our next adventure.
