Pen Y Llechwedd Shines Brightly – #HIT

When given the opportunity, I love to dress up my home. Last week I turned 40, and when planing for a party, had decided it was time to really show off our gorgeous home, and host a party here. I have always been a fan of fairy lights, so that is where the party theme began. Very similar to our wedding, a garden style party, with plenty of twinkle, candles and lots of champagne.

Our home takes on a whole new feel when we have a crowd, it is almost like she enjoys the company. She shines so brightly!

Styling was really simple, obviously lots and lots of fairy light, painstakingly put up by The Builder, and plenty of candles and white flowers to compliment the old photos of me. Little vignettes were set up on tables around the yard, with cheese platters to keep the guests hunger at bay.

Joined by 60 guests, we were fortunate never to feel overcrowded in the back yard. I had a couple of my very good blogging buddies share in the fun, Kirsten from Kirsten and Co and Eva, The Multitasking Woman. I feel so blessed to call these ladies friends.

Over our left shoulders you can see the photo tree we set up. Covering one of my favourite trees in old photos’ report cards and letters, was a highlight in the set up for me. What giggle we had!

We were fortunate enough to book Adam Spain-Mostina former finalist form The Voice, well in advance so that he could entertain the crowd with gorgeous soft acoustic music, adding to the atmosphere.

I obviously didn’t think too hard about the placement of the hose prior to the photos :)

The Pimms station was a clear winner on the night, yummy!

My very clever Aunt, who had traveled all the way from Wagga to spend the evening with us, was able to whip up this cake a couple of hours prior to the party. Not only did it look great, it tasted delicious!

It was a wonderful evening made very special by my amazing friends and family, all of which made an extra special effort to join us on the evening. Special thanks to Animal House Reference for the photos.

If you would like to see more photos, my Facebook page has a few more kindly taken by Kirsten from Kirsten and Co.

We had an awesome link up last week, with 8 blogs linking up! That’s a new record for #HIT, thank you all so much for joining The Plumbette and I.

New linker Mademoiselle Slimalicious shared her AMAZING kitchen makeover, this one has to be seen to be believed!
