Last week on Facebook and Instagram I was finally able to reveal that our beautiful Pen Y Llechwedd was invited to take part in the Great Houses of Ipswich program. The Great Houses of Ipswich program is a non profit organisation supported by the National Trust. This amazing program invites private homes to open their doors to allow the public to share in the wonder and delight of their historic homes. Pen Y Llechwedd is proud to be among those invited to participate.
On Saturday 13th May we will be opening the doors of our home, from 10am until 3pm, for adults and children alike to wonder through our home. There is a $5 entry fee per adult per homeas collected by volunteers from the National Trust. Children are encouraged to visit for free. Ours will be one of 3 amazing privately owned Ipswich homes to open on this day.
Pen Y Llechwedd will be tarted up in preparation for her to be shining her best, and we also hope to have a few secrets up our sleeve to share on the day. We have elected to open our garden as well as home, and will be working hard to find ways to share the history we have learned in our 3 years as her custodian. (3 years in May)
Our very dearest hope is that we are able to share what we love about our home, and maybe even inspire you a little to begin on your own Queenslander journey. The romance and history of a Queenslander style home is un-replaceable, and to be able to share ours, is such a gift. I very much hope to see you there.
Will you be joining us on the 13th of May? Do you have a Queenslander you would like to renovate?
