I first came across Veronica through a photography circle and felt an instant connection with this Mum of five girls. I am blessed to have five kids myself, any other mother in a similar situation is sure to grab my attention. Veronica blogs about such things as 5 Things I’ve Learnt and Our Finances Suck with clever tips and honest reflections, Veronica’s blog is one to put on the reading list. Today we get to read all about where Veronica takes a break, a little breath away from the craziness that is a family with five girls…..
Tell us a little about yourself?
Well I’m mum to 5 girls aged 17, 15, 14, 10 and 6 and wife to one outnumbered hubby!! Even the cats are female lol !!
I love starting craft projects….not quite so good at finishing them though!
I’m always busy and totally disorganized……hmmm maybe that’s why I’m so busy!!
I love everything vintage, rustic and shabby chic so any child free time that I can get is usually spent at op shops or local markets.
I blog over at Mum Of Five Girls just about our craziness and chaos.
Tell us about your favourite space?
When you have yourself, 5 children, 1 hubby and 2 cats all living in a tiny three bedroom house that had unfinished projects all the way from the front door to the back fence it makes sense for your favourite space to be somewhere other than that house!!
Thankfully I live only a short drive from some wonderful outdoor spaces and this is one of my favourites…..
What is it about this space that makes it your favourite space?
I love just being outdoors in this space….room to move and think!
My favourite times to visit are of a morning after the chaos of school drop off or of an afternoon if I have half an hour to spare before the 3pm mayhem begins.
I also love me a bit of people watching whilst sipping a hot chocolate and browsing though a magazine…perfect!
What are your favourite items in this space?
I love the green grass, the trees (especially the autumn colours), the movement of the river, the reflection of the sun.
I love how it looks different depending on the time of the day that you are there.
I also love watching the paddlewheeler head out for a high tea cruise…..it feels so ‘olden times’ !!
It is a great place for me to practice my {very amateur} photography skills!
How does this space make you feel?
Years ago we would spend a lot of time here for family gatherings, nieces and nephews birthdays etc… The years have seen some family bonds fracture and some loved ones lost way before their time so sometimes I find it a bit nostalgic when I am here
Even though it is close to home it feels like I am miles away from the hustle and bustle. It is calming and rejuvenating at the same time. It is a great space to clear the head of the chaos of home!
This park is beautiful, anywhere near the water is a winner for me. Watching watch is so soothing for me. If you would like to learn more about Veronica, check her out at her Blog on Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest and Twitter
What do you think of Veronica’s favourite space? Do you have a favourite space to share?

Aren’t those autumn leaves just gorgeous? Looks like the perfect space to relax with a good magazine x
It looks lovely doesn’t it. xx
I love the colours too Ashlea! It’s the perfect place for hot chocolate and a good magazine!
What a pretty spot and how gorgeous are those autumn colours. I wouldn’t mind high tea on the paddlewheeler either ?
Now that sounds like a real treat, as long as there were bubbles xx
and bubbles can’t hurt Nicole!!
The paddlewheeler is the perfect place for high tea Sammie!
A beautiful spot Veronica! And your poor hubby having to be outnumbered by all the girls. At least in our house, our dog Bentley is male, although he whizzes like a girl. ?
Bahahahaha! Poor Bentley, having a little crisis with all the female in the house? xx
haha your dog is a bit mixed up Bec!! My hubby is used to it now lol !!!
