I first met Gina at a photography lesson at ProBlogger last year. I was having a bit of a fan girl moment when I realised who I was sitting with, and then when Gina mentioned she knew my blog, I nearly went into meltdown!!
Gina has a blog called Style Curator, an amazing source of inspiration for DIY, advice, real home tours, and interviews with artists and industry professionals,if you are looking to style your home, bookmark Style Curator as your bible for home decorating.
Tell us a little about yourself?
I’m an interiors addict who just finished (well 98% finished) building a new home. I write about this building experience and other home-related things, like DIYs and latest products, on my blog stylecurator.com.au
Having just become a mumma, I’m keeping busy between baby Patrick, the blog and finishing our home.
I love the outdoors, travelling and a good wine… and a daily morning coffee is a must (don’t try to make sense of me before my caffeine hit!).
Tell us about your favourite space?
My favourite space has got to be our master bedroom. After 18 months of planning and building, it’s a great feeling to walk into this space that’s just ours and we worked so hard to create.
I styled the room around an Antoinette Ferwerda artwork that my husband gave me for my birthday. Called ‘Coastal Hills’, it has such a serene mood to it and I love the blush, blue and grey tones in the piece that I picked out in the soft furnishings and decor.
What is it about this space that makes it your favourite space?
I love that our bedroom feels like a mini sanctuary. It has a large, wall-to-wall north facing window so it gets great light and being on the second level, it looks out to the tree tops. In the morning I watch the cockatoos and the clouds before getting up and starting my day.
What are your favourite items in this space?
Definitely the artwork and the Smith armchair. They were my splurge buys in the space and I feel like they’re investment pieces I will treasure for a long time.
How does this space make you feel?
Happy, relaxed, undisturbed. It’s also a reminder to me that hard work really does pay off!
Thank you for sharing your space Gina! I can really imagine who much you are enjoying your sanctuary as a new mum. Such a serene and peaceful space.
Is your bedroom your sanctuary? What is your favourite colour combination?
