This week’s My Favourite Space is from Brigette of Honey and Bean Blog. Honey and Bean is a parenting blog, powered by coffee and cherry muffins! Yummy ? Brigette recently shared her Vintage Suitcase Revamp for Toy Storage, it looks so cool. With an awesome family dog Asha, and this inspiring kids bedroom makeover for under $50, Brigette’s blog is a great place to hang out.
Brigette was happy to share with us her lounge area which I think you will agree is a gorgeous space accentuated by their unique homemade decorative pieces. I hope you enjoy this sneak peak into Brigette’s world.
Tell us a little about yourself?
I’m a part time Community Health Nurse, a wife, a mother, and I know the names of all the rare Shopkins.
Tell us about your favourite space?
My favourite space will always be our lounge area. Our home is quite small, so it is an ever evolving space that can serve many different uses throughout the day. It can range from dance floor, train track and Lego city, to family cinema all in one day.
What is it about this space that makes it your favourite space?
The fact that it is our family hub. It’s where we all come together at the end of the day, even if we are all doing different things. It gets gorgeous light throughout the whole day, and houses all our favourite items. Plus, it has a giant chalkboard wall for children ranging from 5 to 30 years of age.
What are your favourite items in this space?
There are so many! The drawings from our daughter, the wolf wall hanging my husband gave me for my 21st birthday, and my $4 coffee table that I found in a local op-shop, but I also love all our homemade items that really make this space ours. The crochet blankets, the screen printed wood, and homemade coasters.
How does this space make you feel?
It makes me feel calm, and connected to my family. My husband is a FIFO worker, and it’s such a nice feeling to be surrounded by things that remind us of him and can be a real source of comfort for us while he’s gone. The room gets such beautiful light, especially at sunset and it makes it very hard to be in a bad mood!
What a beautiful lounge area you have Brigette, thank you for sharing. I particularly love the rug and wall hangings, and the framed artwork that your daughter has created. If you are interested in knowing more about Brigette, be sure to check out her Blog or find her on Twitter, Pinterest or Instagram.
Have you created handmade items to decorate your home? Do you have a favourite space to share? I’d love to hear from you.
