I thought it about time, I brought you a favourite space from our own family. I am proud to introduce my wonderful husband, Adam. Adam has been a builder for 21 years, and is the sole reason I ever contemplated the construction industry as a possible career choice. He is passionate about helping people build their dreams. Together we have had our building company, Fernbrooke Homes for over 4 years. When not building and being a Father to our 5 kids, Adam is rugby league coach, vice president and referees co-ordinator at our local football club.
It was an interesting exercise to ask Adam about his favourite space, it is very different to where I thought he would choose. It is amazing what we think we know about they way our loved ones think. I hope you enjoy this little snippet into our lives.
Tell us a little about yourself?
I’m a father of 5. Registered Builder of 21 years experience, husband of my amazing wife Nicole and Rugby League coach to children.
Tell us about your favourite space?
I always grew up in an area of country and on acreage so I’ve always had a connection with nature and bush. My favourite space is around a fire gazing into the embers contemplating the simplicity of life. We have a fire pit type area at the rear of our property in the middle of Ipswich where I have built seating for all to sit around and enjoy.
What is it about this space that makes it your favourite space?
It takes the stress out of the everyday (when I have time to use it of course) and is a great area and moment to share some good conversation with family and friends.
What are your favourite items in this space?
The fire and the company along with the simplicity.
How does this space make you feel?
Connected with nature. My wife feels connected with the beach and says we all need to connect with nature. I think she is right, because this space makes me feel connected and grounded.
I hope you enjoyed this look into our lives from a different angle, and a sneak peak into the garden. I so totally thought Adam would choose the lounge room or the front deck.

I was sure Adam would choose a space inside your beautiful home, so this outside space was a wonderful surprise. You’re so right, we do need to connect with nature, and what better place to do it, than in your own back yard (literally!)
