My Favourite Decorating Styles – #HIT

My Favourite Decorating Styles – #HIT

We have explored so many different decorating styles on the blog, however this week I wanted to share the three I think I combine to make my own. My own home is decorated in it’s mash up of my three favourite styles. I have taken bits and pieces of each to suit our needs and the style of architecture in the home. While eclectic, it works for us.

Three Of The Best Decorating Styles

Hamptons Style

For me, Hamptons Style is right up the very tippy top of my love list! I mean what is there to fault? Warm and inviting, while being classic and stylish with a fresh twist. Oh it’s just delightful.

Hamptons Style
I just love the grey on the walls in this bedroom, and that marble fireplace, oh my!

This Hamptons beauty is owned my Perth’s Natalee as featured on Home to Love. A gorgeously put together room, with romance and class, so much light to shine bright and clean.
French Provincial
French provincial is more delicate and refined than other styles, with intricate carving in timber legs, the furniture becomes the major focus in the room.
french-rotator-desk
This desk for example, has beautifully turned legs, but also has the decorative carvings in the timber to create a romantic, but strong piece.

Love this bedroom with it’s real rustic French feel. The detail on the ottoman legs are amazing, love the bedhead and the colours. Lovely.
traditional-living-room
This stunning modern French lounge shows how simple it is to create this style in your home.
Classic or Traditional
A Classic look is what we were looking for in our home right from the beginning, though with time we found that we love various pieces, not just one style throughout our home. More formal and structured, I love the simplicity of this design.

The team at Alexander James Interiors knows exactly how to style a room in a classic style. Their website is well worth a long look.

Love these library shelves found on MyDomaine. Again simple styling that creates a structured feel to a room.

Strong and simple, makes a statement all on it’s own.
As you can see, my home as it is today, is a real blend of all three styles, used to create a perfect for us style. There is no reason not to blend styles when decorating your home. Your home is meant as a place of comfort for you and your family, and that needs to come before any decorating trend.

  1. We were both thinking very similarly on posts this week for HIT. I can see all three styles working in your home and can definitely see that they’ve been inspiration in the way you’ve styled your house. I love the pockets of your home that you share. x

    1. Thank you. I love your home also, especially when the girls have been causing trouble ? Love that we were both so similar this week ?

  2. Gosh they’re all stunning, I honestly can’t pick which one I like the most. Hopefully one day I will have enough money to fully deck out my home to look like that!

    1. Me too!! I would love the budget to do a full makeover of our whole home, especially once it’s all extended. Fingers crossed xx

  3. These are my favourite decorating styles too! I can see how you can make these three work as an eclectic style, they are very complementary. Now, if only I would actually decorate my house in any style, currently it’s eclectic in a non-stylish but family friendly way. Maybe once I’ve got an empty nest?

    1. Totally! I can’t wait for the empty nest (said a little tongue in cheek) just for the clean and tidy house, without one hundred tissues, or lego or books strewn all over the place. ?

  4. Thanks for the feature. I love the French Provincial style, however I think it’s because my daughter has a Parisian themed bedroom. I don’t really have a style…but I do like the look of all of these!

    1. We have a bit of this here and a bit of that there, nothing wrong with blending to suit your families lifestyle. xx

  5. Great post, cool styling ideas!
