With Summer in it’s last month, we are beginning to consider how we may use our deck in the Winter. Being the typical old Queenslander, there are decks all around the house, so enjoying the Winter sun, should never be a problem. We haven’t done anything to decorate our decks yet, preferring to concentrate on the inside first, though whilst looking recently, I managed to find plenty of inspiration for when the time comes.
When we move the current deck that runs off our kitchen, we will put in some shutters just like this on one of the ends, to create privacy and the feel of an outside room.
We have considered painting our front door a dramatic black.
Plants everywhere are a must, as is white furniture. The floral pattern would have to go though ?
Love this black wicker furniture and the use of curtains instead of blinds.
Loving the natural wicker, and that fabulous floor rug!
Over all, we will be looking to create an outdoor room in the new relocated deck off the new kitchen. We have two more decks that we use most days, one off our bedroom, that is private and secluded, and one to the side of the front deck that provides great views of the street for those days something interesting is going on. We use our decks more in Winter, when the mossies are not so fierce, and the sun not as strong, so big baskets of throw rugs will also be a must.
Do you use any decks or verandas you have? If so, what do you use them for?

LOL, definitely not the floral… although it would work on a country home I guess. I love the black door and black wicker furniture. Beautiful pictures!
