Home Emergency Lighting-Nuts & Bolts with Bec Sparky

Every now and then you come across and idea that really makes sense. This weeks post from Bec Sparky is one of those light bulb moments for me (pardon the pun) It’s such a simple idea, I really have no idea why I’ve not thought of it before.

Home Emergency Lighting

There are so many things I love about summer, but with the increase in temperatures and humidity come power drains from air conditioners as well as electrical storms which can cause blackouts. This leaves us fumbling around for torches and candles. Candles are not efficient and can be very dangerous if left unattended.
In Commercial premises emergency lighting immediately activates providing enough lighting to move around safely. So why not consider having some installed in your home. Installed by a licensed electrician, they fit neatly into your ceiling much like a down light.

They are ideal for areas where increased safety is needed during a blackout. I’ve installed them in kitchens, hallways and even in garages. If you live in a two level home I highly recommend having one put in over stairwells. You wouldn’t want Nan or the kids falling down the stairs in the dark.
Installed in less than an hour they can provide up to 2 hours of light from a 1watt LED lamp. They are a great safety addition to any home.

Do you see what I mean, such a simple inexpensive idea, that could be so helpful, particularly in our summer storms. I’ve booked in our electrician to have some installed next week, nothing is more important to me than the safety of my children.
