It is with great excitement that I am able to share, that I have been awarded the HIA QLD Business Partner of the Year Award for 2015.
From this point I progress as a finalist to the national 2016 awards being held in May on Hamilton Island. The national conference is a three day event highlighted by inspirational speakers such as Mark Bouris, Darren Palmer, Benjamin Robert-Smith and Danielle Di Masi. The weekend will finish with the HIA-CSR Australian Housing Awards Gala Dinner. To say I am excited to attend this great event would be a grand understatement.
I cannot do what I do in our business without the support of my family, specifically The Builder, but I also have a large team behind me helping me all the way.The HIA have also been a guiding light, particularly in the early years. Thank you all for your help, support and assistance. Coming from retail, the construction industry presented a real challenge for me, that was until I recalled that customers are customers in all business and are always looking for the best experience. This is where the biggest changes in our business have come, spending more time and effort on the customers experience.
My roll has changed so much of the 4 years we have been in business together, from initially only entering data to now being in control of our staff, financial planning, business management, marketing and most recently I have begun working with The Builder on project management.
There are so many opportunities for personal and professional growth within a small business, and particularly in the construction industry, a typically male dominated industry that is seeing real growth through female involvement. I hope to be able to use my 12 months with this title to help and inspire other business partners to grow within their businesses to reach their full potential.
I would love to hear from other business partners and learn about your challenges. Please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org of leave a comment here for me to contact you.
