Fernbrooke Homes - An Update - The Builder's Wife

What a busy start we are having to Spring, in fact this year has been one of our best yet, and there is even better to come. The last couple of weeks have been a little messy, that said, we have had the opportunity to have the boys here at home for a few days to tidy up a few odds and ends here. Two of our staff have also had holidays, one to the snow and one just had a week off to catch up on some sleep.

Last week we started a long awaited renovation. We have been working with these clients for months now thoroughly preparing for this very large extension and renovation. We are most excited to be able to share this one as we go along.

Graceville Renovation and Extension

We started this renovation with a few changes to one of the childrens bedroom, and converting another bedroom into an office with some hidden storage. The boys were able to do one of their most favourite jobs, matching up some new timber flooring to the existing flooring. Once sanded and coated and with a little time to cure, you will have a hard time finding this patch in the room.

This week we have been working on framing up the extension under the house, this area will see the addition of 2 bedrooms and a bathroom.

We have also been working on changing this desk nook into a guest powder room. Our clients have impeccable taste and I simply cannot wait to show you the fittings they have chosen.

Camira New Build

This week also saw us begin the framing up of a new build in Camira. In this particular job, we are supplying the carpentry labour only, as the home owner is building the home as an owner builder. This will be a quick job for us, but interesting just the same.

Exciting News

A few weeks back a lovely surprise arrived in the mail. A certificate to celebrate my elevation to finalist in the HIA-CSR Australian Business Partner of The Year 2016.

While we were celebrating and working hard, our site supervisor was sending us photos of his holiday view.

The cheeky buggers send me photos like this one nearly every day, just to show me they are using their safety equipment, or to show me what they have been up to.
