For this weeks DIY Inspired Space post, we have a delightful DIY Built-In Shelves makeover that doubles as an IKEA hack. The girls at Eleven Magnolia Lane have transformed a room in the most magnificent of ways using the Billy Bookcases from IKEA. I have had many inquires about our library shelves, which were custom made for our home. Having them custom made is a very expensive process, and this hack is a perfect low cost alternative to that. Hope you enjoy this makeover as much as I did.
DIY Built-In Shelves – An IKEA Hack
Looking at this before picture, it is nearly impossible for me to picture just how fantastic this room will become with such a simple makeover. Always exciting to begin with a clean blank space.
Even at this point with the shelves in place as below, I found it difficult to picture how this transformation will come together.
With some clever thinking and a little carpentry, which I firmly believe that even a novice DIYer could have a go at, those shelves transformed from the ugly duckling they were to this gorgeous swan! Perfectly styled to accentuate the design.
