It’s bathroom month on the blog this month, we have looked at big bathrooms, bathroom styles, calculating floor space, and tiles required. Today we are going to have a little look at ways to decorate your bathroom. There are many options, some at the less expensive end of the market, and others in a more expensive price bracket.
Decorating Your Bathroom –
Soft Furnishings
Towels are one of the simplest ways to update or change the decor in your bathroom. We regularly change the colour of our towels to reflect the season, or the mood. The kids bathrooms always have bright colourful towels to reflect a happy day. Especially in a neutral bathroom, this is an effective technique. Try making a feature using the towels, you can use them to give the bathroom a spa feel, with luxurious thick towels in a neat stack or rolled in a pyramid.
Feature Lighting
Adding or updating feature lighting can make a real impact on your bathroom space. We are installing wall sconces on our ensuite wall, along with a chandelier over the bath tub for a real wow as you walk in the door. Adding feature lighting can create a whole new mood for the space and again bring in that luxurious feel. Try a pendent light, or two, one either side of the mirror.
I adore the use of this feature pendent lights to give it that make up mirror feel. While we are looking at this space, those tiles are damn hot too!
Love the use of these pendents either side of the mirror, bringing such style to the room.
Artwork
We use artwork all over our homes to enhance our walls, why not the bathroom? Another inexpensive way to dress up your space.
This set would look right at home in a kids bathroom. Or you could try some brighter colours to match in with the colourful towels mentioned above.
I’ve long admired this beautiful print also available on Etsy. If you have a good quality printer this may be one of the least expensive ways to decorate you bathroom. Simply purchase the file, print at home, and frame with an inexpensive frame from Kmart or IKEA.
Bathroom Accessories
Bathrooms rarely have enough storage space for all the little things we use each day. With that in mind, why not use your bathroom accessories to create a vignette. A pretty focal point to not only accessorize your room, but to make you feel good as you walk into the bathroom each day.
These glass canisters from Pottery Barn look great as part of a vignette, a simple but stylish storage option for your bits and pieces.
Simple, stylish and effective.
Update Tapware
If there is a little room in the budget, consider updating the tapware for an instant style change. Black and copper tapware are on trend at the moment, and could take your bathroom to the next level.

I am a real fan of both of these trends. The copper especially has my eye. Trends do tend to come and go, so if you are on a budget, you may prefer to spend your money on tapware that is a little more timeless.
Tiling
Nothing freshens a bathroom like new tiles. Sparkling and fresh, new tiles are a great way to decorate your bathroom space. Not an inexpensive option once you factor in the cost for the tiles and the tiler, but if your budget can stretch a little this is a sure way to re-decorate your bathroom space.

These are just a few of the ways in which you can decorate or style your bathroom, touching on options from the lower price point all the way up to a higher end.
How do you decorate your bathroom? Do you have a brand of towels you prefer? Are you fortunate enough to have an ensuite?

Only two linkers last week, one of which was my good friend Sarah from TOMFO who shared yet another easy but inspirational DIY idea, 3 Super Easy DIY Party Table Decoration Ideas
I need to share some of your posts on my Facebook page because I reckon many of my readers would love to see these posts. I can’t wait to accessorise our bathrooms more, but not till the kids are older!
Even though my kids are older, there is no way I can style their bathrooms past a picture on the wall and coloured towels. My ensuite on the other hand, is my domain ?
I love all these ideas, especially the prints in the bathroom.
Those glass storage holders look fab, I think I need some of these in my wall mirror cabinet for guests, thank you!
Thanks for sharing my post too, lovely. x
