We are busy making new Christmas memories here at Pen Y Llechwedd this year. This is the last our daughter will be home with us for a while. She is set to leave mid February to head over to the UK to live for a while. An exciting adventure for her, that has made this Christmas all the more special for us.
I love the way our Pen Y Llechwedd shines during the festive season. She seems at her happiest when filled with our family and friends. I think she loves the attention and the addition of Christmas lights over the past few years has certainly seen ‘brighter’ than ever!
During the year you may recall we had members of the original family come to visit our old girl. When they were here, I asked them to share where the Christmas tree had been placed all those years ago, to our surprise there had not been one. This families Christmas memories were of hot nights, mozzies and Sunday lunches in the breakfast room, that is now my daughters bedroom.
When I questioned our children about their Christmas memories in our home, all reflected over the hot nights, mozzies and their favourite, Christmas lunch. While generations separate us, our memories in this gorgeous home are much the same.
Feeling a little emotional this year, I can’t help but wonder what my girl will be remembering about our Christmases from the other side of the world next year. Perhaps we will join her for a white Christmas!
What is your favourite Christmas memory? Do your parents still live in the home you grew up in?

Pen Y Llechwedd looks so pretty! I love that you are making memories together and I am sure your daughter’s next Christmas will be truly magical especially if there’s snow and you join her!
Joining her is definitely on the cards, I would love a white Christmas xx
