Our Christmas preference has always been to have an eclectic mix of Christmas decor. From our family tree covered in home made decorations, to our various Christmas decor pieces spread all around the house, we like to do things a bit different. There are a few local (to Brisbane) places I can shop at, knowing I’ll find just the right and slightly different piece.
Christmas Decor – My Favourite Places To Shop
Brisbane is really growing up now, with plenty of choices when it comes to shopping for your home. Our choice was once restricted to the bigger chains, but now each year, we’re finding we have more and more choice. When looking for just the right items for my home, there are a few local places I know I can rely on.
Pottery Barn
Pottery Barn can be relied on to deliver the home decor goods at any time of the year, but at Christmas they excel. This years vintage decoration range has been my go to for gifting and for that special decoration we choose each year to reflect the year gone by. If you are looking for a traditional Christmas decor item, try shopping in store or online with Pottery Barn.
Pillow Talk
Pillow Talk have a huge selection of both traditional and non traditional Christmas decor. From decorations to tableware so much can be found at Pillow Talk. I am especially loving their range of Christmas candles, which are a big feature in our home this year.
Balsam Hill
We were blessed this year to be gifted a gorgeous new Christmas tree from Balsam Hill. I have to be honest, once you’ve had a pre-lit tree, there is no going back! If you are looking for a new tree, or gorgeous new tree decorations, Balsam Hill have you covered!
Add To Cart
We are doing something different on Boxing Day this year, and having a casual BBQ with family and friends. Often by the time Christmas day is finished, I’m really not feeling it any more. So with this in mind, Boxing Day will be casual, outdoor dining, with the focus on relaxing pool side.
For my Boxing Day table, I’ll be looking to use bright and cheerful table decorations, that show more of our personality than Christmas. For this I’ll be shopping up a storm in the new online store, Add To Cart.
Bed Bath N’ Table
From the Christmas tree, to the table, Bed Bath N’ Table has something for every family. I’ve collected many a piece from Bed Bath N’ Table over the years. Their decorations, make lovely gifts.
Provincial Home Living
If you are looking for something to fill a specific theme, have a look at Provincial Home Living, where this year minimalist decorations are well represented. They also have some gorgeous monochrome decorations and Christmas Decor pieces. I’m really loving the feel of their Christmas range.
As always, we believe in decorating our home with pieces that we love, the result of us is eclectic, just how we like it. We’ve a combination of low cost items, and finer pieces that are chosen to serve a specific purpose, and all our decorating is done thoughtfully.
Christmas can feel mass produced and over done very quickly, so we prefer to make mindful choices we will enjoy for years to come.
Do you have a theme for this Christmas? Are you a traditional or minimalist Christmas decorator?
