Last weekend we celebrated our Easter as the kids are with their other parents this year. On Easter Sunday we will do it all again with friends and extended family and therefore this years Easter table needed to be versatile and inexpensive. I shared some of my inspiration last week, and this week I bring you my Easter table decorated on a budget!
My Budget Easter Table
We like our Easter table to be relaxed and fun, more so than other times of year when we like the table to be a little more restrained and formal.
I’ll be the first to admit, a lot of what I have used this year were items I have in my cupboard from last year, but I have found similar still available this year and everything I have used has been bought on a tight budget.
The base of our table as always, is a good white linen tablecloth. This must have item is used in our home every time we entertain.
On top of the tablecloth we laid a faux grass runner, and topped it with our decorative birdcage which I bought for our wedding 7 years ago.
Inside the birdcage, I made a little nest using raffia, fresh eggs and a few little chickens. Our friends kids loved this feature, unsure if the eggs would hatch over lunch, which just added to the excitement of the season!
The rest of the table is really simple, a few plastic eggs, a couple of bunnies and some fresh flowers from our garden, which very so tiny they looked like they were growing out of the faux grass runner!
To this I added a few tealights for ambience. We rarely sit all together at the dinner table without candles, it makes it feel all the more special.
The placemats worked well to offset the green on the table and tone it down a little. It was a bit in your face at first! With white crockery and simple glassware you can’t go wrong!

Here is a full list of where you can buy these supplies from, at a budget price!!
- Multicoloured Chic Decoration Pack Kmart
- 12 Pack Easter Egg Baubles Kmart
- Natural Raffia Kmart
- Artificial Grass Table Runner Kmart
- Hyacinth Placemat Kmart
- Extra Large White Tablecloth Kmart
- Flocked Bunny Assorted Kmart
Of the above list, I only had to purchase, the runner and the raffia, everything else I already had in my cupboard. For me decorations should be purchased with the future in mind, I can use everything on this table for many different table settings, and as we entertain regularly, this works for us.
Do you decorate your table for Easter? When was the last time you bought one thing in Kmart?

That runner is fab, it brings everything together beautifully! As a minimalist I can love that you’ve reused your pre-loved Easter decorations – we reuse our Christmas decorations every year so it makes sense that we should do the same at Easter. Love your work lady! Hoppy Easter!
