We bought a house!

And this is where our story really begins, we bought a house. After months of looking, as usually happens, the right house landed in our lap at the right time. She is a majestic beauty of a Queenslander, thought to have been built around 1905. Designed by architect ‘Brockwell Gill’, with bay window seating, pressed metal ceilings and wait for it……….. it’s very own library.

She has a name, “PEN Y LLECHWEDD” and she most definitely surpasses all my dreams. I am so fortunate to have a builder for a husband, or this part of our story would never have begun. You see, to fit our Brady bunch in, we will have to add another 4 bedrooms, hopefully before we move in. To do so in character of our beautiful girl, affordably, would not be an option for us, but for Hubby’s building talents.

Our plan is to place an extension downstairs to fit in 4 of our kiddies, with a TV room, study room, laundry, and bathroom and the option to add a bar/pool room in years to come. Upstairs, we need to respectfully renovate back to her former glory. I am so excited, I cannot sleep! There are 2 months until we move into our forever home, for 2 or so of those weeks, our home is being rented, after this time, we will have around 6 weeks to hopefully complete the extension, clean up the original house, give her a much needed soak of paint, and move in. I look forward to sharing this journey with you.
