When renovating an older home you quite often come across linings that are “Fibro” (fibrous cement sheeting). The first question that comes to mind is, “Is that Asbestos?” Asbestos is a naturally occurring mineral that has been mined for over 4000 years. You don’t need me to tell you about the technical jargon about this previous “Wonder material”, you just need to know that this stuff can cause serious harm or fatal illness to you or your family. There are many ways to determine whether or not that lining on your walls or ceilings is Asbestos or not, but the easiest and safest way to know for sure is to have an expert check it out.
